Anthropic Unveils Claude Science to Accelerate Scientific Research

Anthropic has unveiled Claude Science, a new artificial intelligence platform designed to help scientists streamline research, analyse complex data and manage digital workflows across scientific disciplines.

The platform forms part of Anthropic’s Life Sciences and Healthcare initiative, which has been developing since October 2025. Claude Science is built to assist researchers in reviewing scientific literature, planning experiments, analysing datasets, creating figures and manuscripts, and tracing research back to its original data and methodology.

Anthropic said the platform comes pre-configured with access to more than 80 scientific databases and can interpret scientific information such as three-dimensional protein structures, genome browser tracks and chemistry diagrams.

Claude Science also integrates with the existing Claude ecosystem, enabling researchers to carry out biosecurity and cybersecurity assessments alongside scientific analysis.

According to the company, several research organisations and companies testing the platform have reported significant improvements in research efficiency and productivity.

Alongside the platform launch, Anthropic announced that it is expanding into pre-clinical drug development, with a focus on neglected diseases. These programmes aim to address medical conditions that have historically received limited research attention.

Anthropic noted that the initiative reflects its broader ambition to support scientific discovery by combining AI capabilities with domain-specific research tools, helping scientists accelerate innovation across life sciences and healthcare.
