Tourists arriving at Dubai International Airport on January 17 were welcomed with a special passport stamp commemorating the UAE’s Day of Solidarity, transforming a routine immigration process into a symbolic moment of reflection and unity. The initiative was shared by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) on social media, highlighting how arriving passengers at the world’s busiest international airport received the commemorative stamp.
The gesture serves as a subtle yet powerful expression of the UAE’s core values of unity, resilience and shared purpose, extending the message of national solidarity beyond citizens and residents to visitors from across the globe. By marking passports, the UAE underscored its commitment to remembering pivotal moments in its history while sharing that narrative with the international community.
The Day of Solidarity, also known as the Day of Resolve, was instituted following the Houthi terrorist attacks on Abu Dhabi on January 17, 2022. The attacks resulted in civilian casualties and damage to key sites in the capital, marking a sombre moment for the nation. The annual commemoration honours the spirit with which the UAE responded—standing firm against violence, reaffirming its national values, and transforming a moment of crisis into a lasting symbol of collective strength and resolve.
