Fujairah Welcomes Asia’s Top Athletes for 6th Asian Yogasana Championship

Fujairah has emerged as Asia’s centre of yoga excellence, hosting the 6th Asian Yogasana Championship (UAE 2025) at the Zayed Sports Complex. The two-day event is hosted by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. It brings together 160 athletes from 16 countries to compete at the highest level of yogasana sport.

The Ministry of Sports organises the championship in collaboration with the Asian Yogasana Sports Federation, the UAE Sports for All Federation, and the UAE Yoga Committee. The Asian Yoga Excellence Awards ceremony will recognise six notable Asian personalities for their contributions to promoting yoga, increasing community well-being, and supporting healthy lives. Institutions and individuals that have contributed to the expansion of yoga, peace initiatives, and the preservation of cultural heritage will also be honoured.

Saeed Al Ajil, Chairman of the Championship Organising Committee, noted that holding such major events demonstrates the UAE’s dedication to growing sports and promoting cultural exchange. He stressed the need to expand yoga’s reach across Asia.

Mohammed Al Dhahouri and Sheikha Al Kaabi, members of the Federal National Council, attended the inaugural ceremony, as did Emirates Sports for All Federation President Salem Yousef Al Qaseer and Asian Yogasana Sports Federation President Nouf Mazrouei.
