India Ends FISU World University Games with 12 Medals, Including 2 Gold

India finished their campaign at the FISU World University Games 2025 in Germany with 12 medals. The final day saw three medals added to the tally—two bronze and one silver—bringing the total to two gold, five silver, and five bronze. Ankita Dhyani, a 2024 Paris Olympian, finished second in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase, trailing only Finland’s Ilona Mononen.

The women’s 20 km race walk team of Sejal Singh, Munita Prajapati, and Mansi Negi won bronze with a combined timing of 4:56:06. China took gold, while Australia received silver. Sejal clocked the fastest time among Indians, clocking in at 1:35.21.

In the men’s 4x100m relay, India won another bronze medal. The team of Lalu Prasad Bhoi, Animesh Kujur, Manikanta Hoblidhar, and Dondapati Jayaram finished in 38.89 seconds, trailing South Korea and South Africa.

India also succeeded in compound archery, collecting three medals—two golds and one silver. Sahil Rajesh Jadhav and Parneet Kaur were among the standout performers.

India’s historic bronze in mixed team badminton and its first singles tennis medal, won by Vaishnavi Adkar, contributed to the success. This was India’s second-best finish, following its record haul in 2023 in Chengdu.
