During the first half of 2025, Dubai International Airport (DXB) saw an all-time high in passenger traffic, with 46 million travellers. Despite brief interruptions in regional airspace, the airport had a 2.3% year-on-year increase, reaffirming its status as the world’s busiest for international traffic.
The second quarter alone accounted for 22.5 million passengers, a 3.1% rise over the previous year. April 2025 saw 8 million travellers, the most ever for that month.
India remained DXB’s biggest market, with 5.9 million passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. The top city destinations included London, Riyadh, and Mumbai. DXB handled 222,000 flights during six months, with an average of 254,000 passengers per day. The average load factor was 76%, indicating excellent airline capacity use.
In baggage management, 41.8 million bags were processed, with 91% delivered within 45 minutes and a mishandling rate of only 2 per 1,000—well below the global average. Over 98% of passengers cleared immigration and security in minutes, demonstrating excellent service quality.
With access to 269 destinations via 92 airlines, DXB is preparing for a high-traffic second half, including the Dubai Airshow 2025.
