The Prime Minister congratulates V. D. Satheesan on taking the oath as Chief Minister of Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated V. D. Satheesan after he took the oath as the Chief Minister of Kerala, extending his best wishes for the new tenure and assuring full support from the Centre. Satheesan was sworn in at a ceremony held in Thiruvananthapuram, marking the return of the Congress-led United Democratic Front government in the state after the Assembly elections.

In a message posted on social media, the prime minister said that the central government would provide all possible assistance to the newly formed Kerala government in fulfilling the aspirations of the people. The statement highlighted the centre’s willingness to work closely with the state administration on development and governance matters.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by senior political leaders, party workers, and supporters from across Kerala. Satheesan, a prominent Congress leader and former Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, assumed office amid expectations of administrative reforms, welfare measures, and economic revival in the state.

The new government is expected to focus on infrastructure development, employment generation, healthcare, and education while strengthening coordination with the union government on key policy initiatives.
