India’s Commitment to Global Dialogue: Modi at the 16th BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday to attend the 16th BRICS Summit, where he would hold critical bilateral discussions, including meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Following his arrival, PM Modi turned to X to convey his feelings, writing, “Landed in Kazan for the BRICS Summit.” This is a crucial summit, and the conversations held here will help to make the world a better place.”

Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, greeted him warmly upon his arrival, according to social media posts from the Ministry of External Affairs. Prior to his two-day visit, PM Modi emphasised India’s commitment to strong cooperation within the BRICS, which has emerged as an important venue for solving major global development concerns. He commented on BRICS’ recent expansion, emphasising the participation of new members as well as the organization’s broader objective for global good.

Russia intends to increase the influence of non-Western nations by hosting this conference. After arriving at his hotel, PM Modi was hailed by the Indian diaspora, who chanted slogans and sang traditional welcome songs.
