Vietnamese President To Lam has emphasised that India and Vietnam have an opportunity to play a pivotal role in global supply chains, highlighting the potential for deeper economic cooperation amid evolving global trade and geopolitical dynamics.
Addressing the India-Vietnam Business Forum in Mumbai, To Lam said that both countries have navigated challenges through cooperation, strengthening their partnership. He invited Indian companies in advanced technology sectors to explore investment opportunities in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese President noted that bilateral relations, built by Ho Chi Minh and Jawaharlal Nehru, have reached new heights since 2016, driven by growing political trust and strategic cooperation. Acknowledging the current global development challenges, it offers an opportunity to elevate India-Vietnam relations to a new level.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, addressing the forum, said India and Vietnam will shape the future of Asia through their growing economic and strategic partnership, highlighting stable governance, trusted partnerships and dynamic economic growth that both countries possess.
Fadnavis invited Vietnamese companies to invest in Maharashtra across electric vehicles, semiconductors, logistics, supply chains and artificial intelligence sectors, stressing the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties, Buddhism acting as a key cultural link between the two nations.
The forum concluded with the signing of eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), reflecting the growing momentum in bilateral economic and business cooperation between India and Vietnam.
