PM Modi Credits ‘Nation First’ Approach for India’s Global Standing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the “Nation First” Principle has been the driving force behind India’s transformation over the past decade, helping the country emerge as a trusted global partner and one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

Addressing the media at the summit, Modi said India’s progress is rooted in trust, stability and a commitment to the larger global good. He noted that world leaders recognised the country’s growing international stature during the recent G7 Summit, where India’s development approach and global contributions received widespread attention.

Reflecting on 12 years of governance, the Prime Minister’s initiatives, such as Swachh Bharat, Make in India, khadi promotion and support for domestic products, succeeded because of strong public participation and commitment to national development.

Modi also highlighted progress in tribal and Left-Wing Extremism-affected regions, with expanded road connectivity, telecommunications infrastructure, banking services and communication networks. He said Maoist violence has significantly declined as development and opportunities have reached previously underserved areas.

The Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme acted as a key driver of social and economic progress, helping to improve living standards and expand opportunities across the country. He added that nearly 25 crore people have moved out of poverty in recent years, contributing to the emergence of a growing neo-middle class.

Emphasising the role of youth, entrepreneurs and innovators, Modi said rising aspirations, technological innovation and citizen-centric governance are powering India’s development momentum. He expressed confidence that the collective efforts of 1.4 billion Indians would help realise the vision of a developed India, or Viksit Bharat.

Modi said the government remains committed to reforms, innovation and inclusive growth, adding that the “Nation First” approach will continue to guide India’s development journey in the years ahead.
