CULines Expands Intra-Asia Network With New Japan Shipping Route

CULines will launch its new Japan–Straits–Malaysia (JSM) shipping service on September 5, 2026. The service will provide a direct maritime link between Japan and key markets across South Asia, the Middle East, and the Red Sea.

The new route aims to strengthen CULines’ intra-Asia shipping network. It is designed to offer shippers faster and more reliable connectivity across major Asian trade corridors.

The JSM service will operate through a slot-exchange partnership with Ocean Network Express (ONE). The cooperation allows both shipping companies to share vessel capacity and expand regional coverage.

The port rotation includes Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kobe, Keelung, Hong Kong, West Port Klang, Singapore, and returns to Tokyo. The route connects Japan’s major export hubs with important transshipment and gateway ports in East and Southeast Asia.

CULines expects the new service to improve cargo movement between Japan and emerging markets. It is also intended to support growing trade flows across Asia while strengthening links with Middle Eastern and Red Sea markets.
