During the summit, PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasising the importance of New Delhi and Moscow’s long-standing partnership for global peace, stability, and prosperity. In his address to the SCO, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of taking immediate action against terrorism, notably financing and radicalisation, mentioning the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack. He encouraged members to hold states that support cross-border terrorism.

Additional Chinese President Xi Jinping and PM Modi acknowledged the positive momentum in ties since their October 2024 meeting in Kazan during the BRICS Summit. They emphasised the need for stable partnerships in promoting regional growth and shaping a multipolar world.
