Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Andhra Pradesh Green Hydrogen Valley Declaration-2025 in Amaravati. The declaration outlines a comprehensive strategy for creating India’s largest green hydrogen ecosystem and establishing Andhra Pradesh as a key hub in the country’s green energy transition.
Policymakers, industry leaders, and scientists all supported the plan. It intends to speed up green hydrogen production and provide the necessary infrastructure while encouraging domestic manufacturing and innovation. It also prioritises developing technical research skills and creating global partnerships to support sustainable governance.
By 2029, the initiative aims to build 5 GW of electrolyser production capacity and produce 1.5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen per year. The projected 25 GW Green Energy Corridor intends to cut hydrogen production costs from ₹460 to approximately ₹160-170 per kg.
By 2030, the state intends to achieve 60 percent localisation of electrolyser components and storage systems, with at least three production units to meet this goal. An Integrated Green Hydrogen Skilling Ecosystem will be launched to train 2,000 specialists annually.
Additionally, Naidu also inaugurated Hero Future Energies’ green hydrogen blending plant in Tirupati.
