Dubai concludes first Green Artificial Intelligence Conference

Dubai has concluded the first international Green Artificial Intelligence Conference, organised by the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment under the patronage of Lt General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in cooperation with Dubai Police Academy and Curtin University Dubai.

The two-day conference, held from January 24 to 25 under the theme “Harnessing Technology for Environmental Sustainability,” brought together more than 150 researchers, policymakers, and green-economy experts from the UAE and overseas.

Participants included environmental specialists, artificial intelligence experts, urban planners, and representatives from academic institutions across the UAE, Bahrain, India, Australia, and the wider Arab region. The event provided a regional and global platform to examine how emerging technologies can be leveraged to address environmental challenges and accelerate the transition towards sustainable development.

Discussions focused on the practical applications of artificial intelligence in key sectors such as smart cities, climate monitoring, renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable urban planning. Experts emphasised the role of data-driven technologies in improving resource efficiency, reducing emissions, and strengthening climate resilience.

Speakers also highlighted the need to integrate advanced digital solutions with environmental policies and regulatory frameworks to maximise their impact and ensure long-term sustainability outcomes.

The conference underscored the UAE’s growing leadership in the green economy and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovation, research, and international collaboration to drive sustainability agendas at both regional and global levels.
