India–Malaysia joint military drill Harimau Shakti 2025 concludes successfully in Rajasthan

The fifth edition of the joint military exercise Harimau Shakti 2025 between the Indian Army and the Royal Malaysian Army was completed successfully at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan after two weeks of coordinated training activities, according to defence officials.

The exercise, which spanned from December 5 to December 18, brought together 120 Indian Army personnel, primarily from the Dogra Regiment, as well as 70 soldiers from the Royal Malaysian Army’s 25th Battalion, highlighting the two nations’ growing defence engagement.

The training focused on sub-conventional combat scenarios under a United Nations Chapter VII mandate, with a specific emphasis on counter-terrorism operations in complicated locations. Troops jointly executed drills such as raid missions, search and destroy operations, heliborne insertions, drone deployment, counter-UAS techniques, helipad security, and casualty evacuation procedures.

The training also included ambush theory sessions, command post exercises to improve tactical decision-making, and slithering drills for operations in restrictive terrain. Joint live firing practices, coordinated patrolling, combat reflex shooting modules, and yoga sessions all helped to increase combat readiness, physical endurance, and operational coordination, reinforcing interoperability and long-term military collaboration between India and Malaysia. Officials emphasised how the exercise increased mutual trust, professionalism, preparedness, and operational understanding.
