India’s Electronics Exports Jump 47 % In First Quarter Of Current Fiscal; US, UAE & China Emerge As Top 3 Destinations

India’s electronics exports have surged 47 % to $12.41 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal, underscoring the country’s rapid emergence as a global manufacturing hub.

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the United States, the UAE, and China were the top three export destinations for India’s electronics shipments during the April–June quarter. The Netherlands and Germany also featured among key markets. This broad geographical spread reflects India’s deeper integration into global electronics supply chains and its growing credibility as an alternative manufacturing base in Asia.

The US remained the dominant destination, accounting for 60.17 % of electronics exports, followed by the UAE at 8.09 % and China at 3.88 %. The strong US demand also extended to ready-made garments, where America held a 34.11 % share of India’s exports. Other major destinations for apparel included the UK, UAE, Germany, and Spain.

During the first quarter, exports of ready-made garments of all textiles rose to $4.19 billion, compared with $3.85 billion in the same period last fiscal year. The steady growth highlights India’s competitiveness in global apparel markets, supported by a skilled workforce, diversified product range, and increasing adherence to quality and compliance standards.
