Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated India–France ties are expanding into new areas such as innovation, technology, and education after meeting Emmanuel Bonne, diplomatic adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron, in New Delhi.
Mr. Bonne called on the Prime Minister during continued high-level engagement between the two countries, including the 38th India–France Strategic Dialogue held earlier in the day. After the meeting, Mr. Modi said he was pleased with the interaction and reaffirmed the strength of the India–France Strategic Partnership.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said cooperation between the two sides now spans multiple sectors and is growing in emerging areas, especially as both countries mark the India–France Year of Innovation. He added that the two sides exchanged views on key regional and global issues and looked forward to President Macron’s proposed visit to India.
The Strategic Dialogue was co-chaired by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Emmanuel Bonne. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, discussions reviewed cooperation in defence, security, technology, space, and civil nuclear energy.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to joint development and innovation aligned with India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat programmes, to address security challenges and promote stability globally.
