US Marks 250th Independence Day With Fireworks, Parades, and Flyovers

The United States celebrated its 250th Independence Day with nationwide festivities, spectacular fireworks, military flyovers, and community events, marking one of the country’s biggest Fourth of July celebrations in history.

Celebrations were held across major cities in Washington, D.C., New York, Boston, and Philadelphia, where millions gathered for fireworks displays, parades, concerts, and patriotic events commemorating America’s 250th birthday.

In the nation’s capital, crowds assembled along the National Mall for large-scale Independence Day celebrations featuring live performances, a ceremonial military flyover, and a fireworks display over the Washington Monument. President Donald Trump attended the celebrations, describing the milestone as a moment to honour America’s history and future.

Despite severe weather forecasts in parts of the country, many celebrations continued as planned. Local authorities monitored thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several regions, urging residents to follow safety advisories during outdoor events.

Across the country, communities organised concerts, cultural performances, and naturalisation ceremonies, with thousands of new citizens taking the oath of allegiance as part of the Independence Day commemorations.

Historic landmarks were illuminated in patriotic colours, while museums and public institutions hosted exhibitions reflecting on the country’s journey over the past 250 years. Air shows, military demonstrations, and community parades added to the nationwide celebrations.

The America 250 celebrations will continue through the year with cultural programmes, educational initiatives, and commemorative events leading up to the country’s semiquincentennial observances.
