Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman V. Narayanan has said that following the historic success of Chandrayaan-3, India has significantly accelerated its space missions, with preparations underway for the ambitious Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 projects. Addressing the fifth convocation ceremony of D. Y. Patil International University in Pune, Narayanan highlighted India’s growing momentum in space science and technology.
He said India is now implementing a comprehensive and forward-looking space programme that includes advanced research missions, with a special focus on future exploration of Mars and deeper space. Emphasising the country’s expanding capabilities, Narayanan noted that India’s achievements in space have earned widespread global recognition, positioning ISRO as a reliable and innovative space agency.
Narayanan also underlined that India’s strength lies not only in technological excellence but also in its ability to execute complex and high-quality missions at comparatively low cost. This cost-effective approach, he said, has made Indian space missions attractive for international collaboration and commercial partnerships.
With consistent successes such as Chandrayaan-3 and upcoming lunar and planetary missions, Narayanan stated that India is now firmly counted among the top five space-faring nations in the world. He added that the next phase of India’s space journey will focus on scientific innovation, self-reliance, and inspiring the younger generation to contribute to the country’s growing leadership in the global space sector.
