Molly Caudery described her World Indoor pole vault triumph as a moment that “means absolutely everything” after securing gold with a season’s best jump of 4.85m in Poland.
The 26-year-old’s victory saw her finish ahead of Tina Sutej, reclaiming the title she had previously won two years ago, a breakthrough that first brought her global recognition. This latest achievement marks a significant comeback after a challenging period in her career.
Following her initial success, Caudery faced setbacks on the biggest stages. She endured disappointment at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she failed to register a jump despite being among the favourites. Further struggles followed as she finished fourth at the World Indoor Championships and suffered an untimely injury during warm-up at the World Championships in Tokyo.
Reflecting on her journey, Caudery expressed immense joy and relief, highlighting the emotional weight of overcoming recent challenges. Her return to the first spot not only reaffirms her talent but also signals a strong resurgence on the international stage after a period marked by setbacks and missed opportunities.
