Nigeria’s gas production increased by 4.72% in July 2025, reaching 194.179 billion standard cubic feet (SCF), up from 185.432 billion SCF in June, according to recent data from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL). The report showed that the daily average output was 6.264 billion SCF, up from 6.181 billion SCF the previous month.
Associated Gas produced 114.045 billion SCF, or 58.73%, while Non-Associated Gas contributed 80.134 billion SCF, or 41.27%. The report also highlighted a 4.24% increase in gas utilisation, with 182.462 billion SCF used in July compared to 175.037 billion SCF in June.
The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) company absorbed the largest share, accounting for 82.209 billion SCF, or 42.34% of total production. Fuel petrol consumption totalled 9.398 billion SCF, with 26.520 billion SCF sold in the domestic market. In addition, 53.449 billion SCF were re-injected or used for gas lift operations.
However, gas flaring increased to 11.636 billion SCF, accounting for 5.99% of total production and a 12.27% rise from June.
