India delivered a stellar performance at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2026 in New Delhi, with multiple podium finishes across events. Leading the charge was Sumit Antil, who clinched gold in the men’s javelin throw with an impressive 69.25 metres. Pushpendra Singh secured silver with 56.91 metres, while Poonam Ram took bronze at 49.48 metres.
India dominated track events, especially in the men’s 400m T13, where Subodh Bhatt won gold in 51.88 seconds, followed by Priyanshu Kaushik and Avnil Kumar. In the T46/T47 category, Bhavikkumar Din Bharwad and Jasbeersecured gold and silver, respectively. The wheelchair 400m T53/T54 saw a clean sweep by Manojkumar Sabapathi, Anil Kumar, and Manikandan Jothi.
In women’s events, Tejalben Amraji Damor led a podium sweep in the 400m T11/T12. Field events also saw Indian dominance, with standout performances from Shaliesh Kumar and Rohit Kumar, underscoring India’s growing strength in para athletics.
