Dubai’s expanding ambitions in the gaming business were on full display at Gamescom 2025, the world’s largest gaming exhibition held in Cologne, Germany. For the first time, the Middle East was represented by an official government-led pavilion, attracting significant attention from visitors, international delegations, and top global technology and gaming firms.
The Dubai Pavilion was a collaborative initiative between the Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. They highlighted the emirate’s vision for establishing itself as a leading hub for gaming, creative, and digital industries.
The Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 (DPG33), a long-term plan launched by Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, was the focal point of the exhibition. The program aims to establish Dubai among the world’s top 10 gaming destinations by 2033, creating 30,000 new jobs and contributing about USD 1 billion to the digital economy.
Gamescom 2025 set new records, with over 1,500 exhibitors from 72 countries and a total area of 233,000 square metres, maintaining its position as the leading global event for gaming innovation.
