Pranjali Dhumal wins Gold in women’s 25m pistol at Deaflympics

Indian shooter Pranjali Prashant Dhumal won a gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol event at the 25th Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, securing her third medal of the competition. She delivered a standout performance by setting a new world and Deaflympic qualification record, scoring 573 out of a possible 600 to advance to the final.

In the medal round, Pranjali held her nerve to finish on top of the podium. Ukraine’s Mosina Halyna claimed the silver medal, while South Korea’s Jeon Jiwon settled for bronze. Indian shooter Anuya Prasad, who had earlier won gold in the women’s air pistol event, finished fourth in this category.

This latest gold adds to an impressive campaign for Pranjali, who had earlier won gold in the mixed pistol event with Abhinav Deshwal and silver in the women’s air pistol event. Her consistent performances have made her one of India’s standout athletes at the Games.

With Pranjali’s victory, Indian shooters have now won 16 medals at the ongoing Deaflympics, including seven gold, six silver, and three bronze, underlining India’s strong presence in shooting at the international level.
