Winter Olympics 2026: Sweden clinch fourth women’s curling title with narrow 6-5 win over Switzerland

Sweden claimed their fourth women’s curling gold medal with a dramatic 6-5 victory over Switzerland in the final at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Sunday, 22 February 2026.

Skip Anna Hasselborg delivered under pressure, scoring the decisive point in the 10th and final end to seal the win and replicate Sweden’s triumph at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Hasselborg, who gave birth to her second child in 2023, became only the second woman, after Anette Norberg, to win two Olympic titles as skip.

Teammates Sara McManus, Agnes Knochenhauer, and Sofia Scharback also secured their second Olympic gold, adding to the bronze they earned at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The victory capped a memorable Games for Sweden’s curlers, with siblings Rasmus Wranå and Isabella Wranå winning mixed doubles gold earlier in the week.

Switzerland, meanwhile, was left with another silver, repeating their runner-up finishes at the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2006 Winter Olympics. Canada took bronze, defeating the United States 10-7 on Saturday.
