The final followed a similar pattern, with Spain controlling possession and frustrating Argentina’s attack, limiting the defending champions to just two shots in the opening stages. Spain eventually broke through in the 106th minute when Torres fired home after sustained pressure, sealing a deserved victory and confirming the arrival of a new generation of Spanish football.
