17 Sportspersons Receive Arjuna Awards as India Announces National Sports Awards 2025

India has announced the National Sports Awards 2025, recognising outstanding performances across several sporting disciplines.

A total of 17 sportspersons have been selected for the Arjuna Award. The list includes athletes, badminton players, boxers, chess players, hockey players, kabaddi players, and shooters.

Tejaswin Shankar, Muhammed Ajmal, and Priyanka Goswami were recognised in athletics. Treesa Jolly and Pullela Gayatri Gopichand received honours for badminton.

The list also includes chess players Vidit Santosh Gujarathi and Divya Jitendra Deshmukh. Hockey players Lalremsiami and Rajkumar Pal were among the recipients.

Other awardees include Narender, Surjeet, Pooja, Rudransh Khandelwal, Ekta Bhyan, Arvind Singh, Akhil Sheoran, and Dhanush Srikanth.

I Arumainayagam received the Arjuna Award for Lifetime Achievement in recognition of his contributions to football.

Five coaches received Dronacharya Awards in regular and lifetime categories. The Army Paralympic Node, Pune, received the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar.

The awards recognise sporting excellence, coaching contributions, and broader efforts to support sports development in India.
